Am emigrating in March.
I would like to claim my tax back for months worked for January and February 2006 before I go. (using my full year tax band and credits etc)

Is this possible?
Or do I have to wait till 2007 before I get my hands on the cash?

cheers

You can claim once you finish employment and get your P45 if you are leaving with the intention of staying away. You will need to fill out a [broken link removed] and send it in. It may take a few weeks/months to process but you should not have to wait until 2007.

If you tell them you are leaving the country they will probably fast track it for you.

You could also arrange for them to pay the refund direct to your bank account

no harm in contacting the revenue directly on this also....despite some perceptions many may have...they are actually OK to deal with.
