electricity bill doubled since the last quarter.

We got our electricity bill a few weeks ago and it seemed extremley expensive. It had almost doubled since the last quarter. We are out until at least 5 every week day. My dad said it was normal to have a much higer bill in winter but I am wondering if an american style fridge freezer / large tv could be what is putting it up.

Hi lanie,

If you have a look at the [broken link removed]r on the ESB site it may give you some indications on the usage for the items mentioned.

There are quite a number of previous threads about high esb bills so if you run the search option on the main page you should be able to get advice from those. This thread on the go at the moment may be helpful also.
