Electrical Completion Certificate

Hi,

Just a quick question. We are trying to get some electrical work done on an ex-corpo house. It does not need to be re-wired but it does need some of the wiring to be tidied up and old switchboxes removed. Also wires need to be sunk, extra sockets added etc.

We were recommended a friend of a friend who has given us a reasonable quote which we will probably agree to. Question: He is not RECI registered so do we need a completion certificate for this work, and if so, will we have to get someone else to check the work and issue it?

Thanks,

If he's recommended and qualified to National Trade Cert Standard, then that should be more than enough.

You do not need a RECI or ECSSA cert if you are not going to get an ESB connection or re-connection.
