Electric Car Hire in Ireland

Is it possible to hire an electric car in Ireland?
Are there any hire companies specialising in electric car Hire?
Though I not immediately thinking of buying an electric car it would be nice to hire one and test it out without committing to buy one.
 
UFO Drive rent solely electric cars. Good for test driving things and while I used to be a giant supporter of them, my last experience means I can't recommend them for anything that you might actually need the car for. Their customer support was pretty abysmal and I ended up having to return the car after two hours and having driven a loop of the block due to a safety issue. Then I was left without a car even though a second identical one was in the bay beside it.

If you can take a chance and aren't planning a trip it could work out though for a day to test the cars.
 
I rented a Tesla from UFODrive, good experience. GoCar also have a few if you wanted to rent by the hour.
 
Wow, UFO are way cheaper than the better known rental companies. Very limited availability though, even trying to book a month in advance, but there is the odd day available.

Think that’s just the rental market in Europe at the moment - broken! There was no problem with availability last year, little consolation though!
