My ESB was quite high last month so rather than leaving the heating on in the bedroom i bought an electric blanket! just wondering if left on all night on a medium heat would they use much electricity compared to heating the room by the rads for a few hours?

Its ok..answered the question on the esb website...blanket stays on!

Hopefully its one thats suited to being left on all night

Not particularly keen on doing this either. Remember many moons ago a friend was complaining about being tired all the time. When she went to the doctor he said it was related to sleeping with the blanket on all night. Maintained that that level of heat just saps all one's energy.

mmmm..interesting...ive been wrecked the last 2 weeks...coincidently around the same time i bought the blanket!!!

Ohhh yes..bad idea to leave it on...Leaves you feeling seriously dehydrated! Maybe put it on a timer or something?

I'd suggest getting a higher tog duvet if necessary, and always turn off the blanket before getting into bed, no matter what type of blanket it is.

or a hot water bottle ? and yes a 15 tog duck/goose down duvet is the business.
