I was working on someones machine (installing XP SPs and assorted patches) last night on my home broadband connection.
When they took it home today their ISDN dial-up is very very slow.
The authentication takes place straight away, but pasisng traffic over the link is taking aaaaaaaaaaaaaages. I tried pinging some trusty IOL addresses and got maybe 1 in 10 back with times in the region of 1500ms.
So, the connection is authenticated, I have an IP address assigned, I can pass some traffic. But something is amiss.
Anyone else experienced any delay problems with eircom dialp-up tonight ?
The only other thing I can think of is that the LASAT USB T/A is described as not having a signed driver . . . maybe SP2 introduced something awful to give people a very good reason to upgrade to a device with signed drivers.
Any ideas ?
Thanks,
z
