Eircom handset frozen

I have a newish Eircom cordless phone without instruction manual. Had it in pocket today so possibly buttons might have been pressed which may have caused this problem. The handset is completely frozen whilst still lit up - homescreen with date and time etc. visible. Battery obviously working since it's remaining lit. When placed on the charger it fails to give the usual "ping" which normally sounds as it clicks on. Would greatly appreciate any ideas to fix this.

Remove the battery. Then put it back in.

Try removing the battery/ies for a few seconds and the re-insert them to reset the handset.

if that doesn't work, try individually pressing each key one by one. could be just a key stuck.
