My father recently left his home to live in a nursing home (Age 92). He had some sort of subsidy on his phone charges when he was living at home. His phone bill was usually less than €10 every two months.
We got his first bill today for his home phone since he moved in to the nursing home and it had gone up to €88. He had made one phone call on this phone costing 11c for the duration of the bill. Everything else was rental charges, VAT etc
There was one charge that I would like help with. On his bill there is a charge of €25.15 and apparently this is for DSP Line Rental Cease and another charge of €2.45 and this is for DSP Equipment Cease Charge. Can someone explain what this relates to as he still has his phone at home and has not cancelled it.
Is this a charge for Eircom having to deal with the Department of Social Protection?
