Eircom and Outlook Express

Hi all,
I have a friend who has a wireless vodafone card. He previously used Outlook Express and downloaded his mail fine.
However now this will not happen I have tried all email settings and these are all ok.
Would it be worth trying to install Outlook for him or what else can i try?

Does any other POP3 (I presume) email client work (e.g. Thunderbird)?

If your friend is using an eircom.net free e-mail address they should still be able to download their e-mail, but they won't be able to send via the eircom mail server from a non-eircom internet connection.

Have not tried any other POP3.

He was able to use Outlook until he installed Vodafone card

can you get your hotmail or gmail emails routed through to microsoft outlook too ?

if so where would i get info on how to set this up ?

for gmail if you log into your account goto 'options' (top right) and under options you can switch on forwarding. Then click 'configure your email client' to get instructions.

I have at various stages had Irishbroadband and Imagine ISPs and was always able to use my free eircom email for sending/receiving. Your ISP will give you the necessary settings.
