Yes thats what I read on the site however my question was wheather I should give my EHIC or travel insurance to the dentist because if the fees were the same I would get the full refund from the insurance company (less the excess of course) unless it was free with the EHIC.
A German guy I know had to get X-rays on a broken rib and gave his EHIC and he paid nothing.
he was just lucky I guess or he was covered 100% between the French Security sociale and mutuelle. He did not use the EHIC I guess
Yeah I am inclined to agree. I am not sure if there is a public clinic or do the French just use the private practioners, if anyone can clarify?
You cannot compare the health system in Ireland and France. There is no real distinction between private and publi
This was with the EHIC I presume.
No the French got refund around 70% of their medical cost but nearly every French person have a mutuelle who will refund the difference.
I am really not sure what is the best action. I am nearly sure I will need a tooth out and dont have the funds to pay for it without things getting messy.
At the end of the day I will probably have to pay but if so, I believe I should claim the funds back from my travel insurance. As 1. Payment will be more than 70% and 2. I will be reimbursed quicker. Am I correct?
