EHIC - European Health Insurance Card

Going on holidays soon.

Need to register for this card for a passenger.

The forms states P45, P60 or drug payments card number to accompany the application.

The individual last worked under the PAYE system 15 years ago.

Will the PAYE number suffice to get the EHIC or does one have to have a drug
payments card first in order to get the EHIC.

The EHIC application uses the PPSN (formerly RSI number) as a reference, this is why the HSE request any of the items you mentioned so that the number can be verified.

Anyone who's got a medical card or drug payment scheme card can apply for an EHIC online.

If you don't have you PPS No. Card (formerly RSI Card), a new one can be issued. This should be sufficient for your application
