EHIC card can it be refused?

Hello,

I have a query about the EHIC card. I have been trvelling to and from Germany for the last few months and I have had to use doctors a few times. Some of them would not accept the EHIC card. Can I claim the money back from the HSE and if so how?

Only public doctors will accept the EHIC. If you see private ones you have to pay yourself and the cost is not refundable.
 
From the EHIC FAQ:
What treatment does the Card entitle me to when I go abroad?

The Card entitles you to necessary healthcare in the public system of any EU / EEA member state or Switzerland if you become ill or injured while on a temporary stay in that country.

The Card does not cover the cost of treatment in a private setting.

The Card does not entitle you to travel abroad with the aim of getting healthcare through the public system.
