Edging/Borders for Flowerbeds

Can anyone let me know where I can get edging/borders for garden?
I have planted flower beds (not raised) around edge of garden but would like to put something between the flower bed and the grass.

I checked in B&Q/Woodies/Atlantic, but all I could see is the logroll which I don't like.
Would I better off looking in specialised garden centres or builders merchants?

I got edging for my borders in Aldis it is a strong small green fencing which inserts into the ground very well.

The only issue I have, is when mowing the lawn, very difficult to get a clean finish as the grass is growing up along the fencing, and for some reason seems to grow faster.

What I find myself doing is removing the edging, and going over it with the lawnmower for a clean finish..

If I was doing my garden again, I would raise my flowerbeds from the grass level... and have a clear gap between the grass and the flowerbeds, to make it easier mowing the lawn!!

To answer your question, Garden centres would be your best bet. I know Argos have a garden section, but if i remember, they only had the log rolls!.

i recently raised a planter bed around my lawn using treated decking boards..... cheap, looks organic, easy to DIY..... i got 48 feet in length for €40.... approx inch and a quarter by eigth inches....
i use a trimmers to get the edge right....

Great idea!

My strimmers is rubbish, it just doesn't give the clean and neat look I get from the lawn mower!

What about a line of bricks, just to give you an edge for mowing the grass? Saves using a strimmer.

Like the line of bricks idea, I should have thought of that earlier.
In hindsight I should have raised the flowerbeds too, but as a novice diy'er it was probably beyond me!
Would the likes of Chadwicks have range of bricks that I could choose from that would be suitable?
Also would they have to cemented together or just knocked into the ground?

Where are u based? 4 homes super stores have lovely edging, they are based in several locatiotions in munster, or you can visit a local cement/brick supplier, they have these in stock aswell, the stone bricks are lovely down.

Based in Dublin but Munster roots, I'll see if I can drop into one of those shops next time I'm home, home! Thanks to all your help & suggestions
