Hi All,

Just wondering has anyone been to/or had a wedding in the Eccles hotel. What was it like food wise, service etc...
cheers

I've been and the rooms are great - we got a really big suite for €100 or so per night. Beautiful views of the sea if you're on the right side of the hotel. Not sure about the food as we only had bar food and that was nice enough.

It's recently been renovated and looks fab. The menu looks very impressive as does the function room with views over the bay. If you are having your wedding there, get the small ferry to Garnish Island for beautiful photo's. Check out their website...

yea looks nice alright.
A bit worried about the dance floor. it's rectangular in shape and up in one corner of the room, it's a pity as the room is very big. If there is a big band the floor will be cut in half, so that is one of the main worries. They also charge 320 euro for the bar extension, and they finish at 2.30, they then close for an hour and open up again for the residents for a round or two and thats it.... not good for the late bar drinkers. friend going to a wedding there at the weekend so they will check it out for us. hopefully it will get a clean bill of health !!

Due to the recent refurbishment they're eager to get weddings - I'm sure you could negotiate a great package.
