ECCE 'Current' one year placement.

Daughter born end September 2012. Currently paying playschool 400 a month. Was planning on doing her free year next year.

Have heard 2 stories recently where playschools have contacted parents who were paying privately this year and told them to claim this current year as the ECCE year under the existing system and then will still be entitled to get next year free under new budget rules.

Can anyone clarify issues around birthdates etc for me? She will be 3 years and 2 months in advance of the January which I think is the next application date?

Appleeyes, to avail of the ECCE year this year your daughter would need to have turned 3 before June 30th 2015. The new scheme doesn't start until September 16 so there is no entry in January 2016.
