EBS Significantly Increase 3 year rate to 4.37%

EBS are now paying 4.37% for a 3 year term deposit.

A very significant increase.

Clearly EBS are desperate for deposits. If there is anyone willing to lock their money in an Irish bank for 3 years then this is a great rate.

I actually got a call from ebs today on this cos I have an account maturing end of the month so they must be promoting it hard.I thought the same as you and queried why the rate was so high when compared to others... Ebs staff told me it was a direct response to an post offer of 10% net.(13.70% after dirt gives u 10% return). She said it will only be available for a while and will be withdrawn soon. I'm assuming they must have been hit hard by an post to react this way
