EBS - Problem closing account

Hi all,

Closed account with local EBS office received wrong certificate of interest photocopied and sheet of recent transactions which makes no sense. Shows a large minus balance when actually the balance is now NIL. Rang local office got nowhere, rang head office and get put through to customer service, keep putting me on hold. So am looking for address and phone number of financial services ombudsman.

When you contact the Financial Services Ombudsman you will be given a point of contact at the EBS to write to with your complaint. Call for a "final response" from them in your initial letter ... should help bring progress things quickly, as you need this before you can return to the Ombudsman asking the office to take up your case directly with the EBS.

The Banks are (inundating) queries into Ombudsman. Complaints such as yours ties up the Ombudsman. It is MADNESS to force you down that road. If you are forced dwn that road it will take months.

Suggest write to Managing Director in EBS (registered mail) express your concerns etc and rather than waste your or Ombudsmans time , leave it with him.
Once it is registered it cannot be forever ignored . And these MD types hate such mail !!

In short pass the parcel to the Head Boy.
