EBS on-line banking - one time PIN code

I have an EBS account that I use to pay my mortgage from. I upgraded my phone during summer so when I went to log in to EBS banking, I was unable to do so as I need to set up the "Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)" again.

I requested this via their helpdesk but the code didn't arrive. I called a few weeks later and was told that it was sent following my previous call, but they re-ordered it. Again, I didn't get it, so I called again. They were going to place another request to get it issued. I wasn't happy with this, so I asked for this issue to be escalated. A few days later I got a call from a customer services rep, and I explained to her what I was trying to do. The agent was empathetic and said that she'd order the code for me (again!!). I told her that I wasn't too happy about that, as the previous attempts were unsuccessful, so I couldn't see her being successful either. In the end we agreed to let her order it one last time and the agreement was that if it didn't arrive, that I could email her, and she'd arrange for the code to be sent to my nearest branch. I was happy with that. She sent me a mail to confirm that she had re-ordered the code, so I had her email that I could contact her on.

2 weeks after that conversation with the rep the code still hadn't arrived, so I replied to her mail letting her know that it hadn't arrived. She didn't reply to that mail, so I mailed again, but still got no response. I have an idea of what's in the account, but I still want to be able to log in and view it.

Any suggestions on how I can get this resolved?
 
I have two family members with the same issue with EBS. They have requested the codes several times over the summer, both in the branch and to a phone number the branch then provided. They too are quite narked at this stage.

Their online offering will definitely please anyone who wants to experience banking in 1994.. .. in the USSR.

Yes, the EBS send out the one-time code by post. I needed one a few months ago due to getting a new phone and it arrived a few days after it was ordered.
 
You need to check what postal address they sent it out to. Is your eircode right ? If that's alright then you seem to have a problem with the postman. Are you getting other mail ?
Just to add, I upgraded earlier this year and got my code no problem after a day pr two.
 
Hi @elcato I got the code via post previously, so no issues with the EirCode. Am getting lots of post too, so postman not the problem either.

I just got a call from my local EBS branch to say they have it, so all is good again!
 
When the customer service rep called me, we agreed that they would try and get the code re-issued and sent to my house. The agreement was if it wasn't received within 2 weeks that I could email the customer service rep back and she'd get the letter, with the code, delivered to my nearest EBS branch. I didn't get the code with the "re-issue request" from the rep so I mailed her. My last message was just saying that the branch called me to say that it (new code) was waiting there for me to collect from them.
 
Picked up the code from the local EBS and logged in. The balance on my spreadsheet matched the account.

I must apply to the OPW to manage the finance of their upcoming bicycle shed and security hut projects!
 
You would be better served by querying EBS why the code never got posted to your address

It presumably got posted to somewhere else
 
Slightly off topic, but for any EBS customer who logs into their account to purely check balance and transactions etc, I use Spiir as a 3rd party app. It can pull in transactions from EBS, which similar apps can't. You can also add the main banks and Revolut.

Main benefit for me is I no longer have to engage in the will they won't they game using EBS' authentication app.

You mean you use an app that can bypass the normal authentication/login process? Isn't that a security risk or maybe a flaw in EBS's authentication process?
 
Was excited to see this but of course it isn't working for me. When trying to get the transactions for my current account it keeps failing.

No, I use an app that uses the TPP setup as part of PSD2. It has read only access as laid out above.

Have you tried to renew the consent? It was acting up a bit for me at first but was fine after that.
