EBS sent a mass mailing by post earlier in the week. The letter was sent to AAM poster Seantheman, myself and many others.
The letter made incorrect claims that Seantheman and myself have addressed with EBS. EBS have admitted that the letter contains incorrect information.
The letter says that EBS now pay 2.41% for a 4 year term deposit. No such rate exists.
Worse still, Seantheman was almost able to open an account, based on the letter. Seantheman queried the rate, he was told by phone later in the day, that he would be getting a different rate and he was then able to cancel the account opening. Other customers may not have queried that the rate was as per the letter.
I have queried with EBS if they will be writing to all customers who received the letter to advise that the letter contained incorrect information.
The above has been posted here, with Seantheman's permission, to forewarn anyone else who got the EBS letter.
