EBAY item not working

Just bought something from Ebay UK and its not working out of the box. Advertised as NEW, so expected it to work.

Have tried contacting seller but getting no replies.

How long do I have to wait before lodging a complaint and can I get my money back? It cost me €40 in total
 
If I remember from previous experience (where a seller didn't send the item but strung me along with emails about delays etc till it was too late to complain) I think you have 45 days to lodge a complaint with eBay. I think you can lodge a complaint with PayPal too if you used it.

Do it sooner rather than later!
 
ok, they've got till tomorrow afternoon to reply or i'll lodge a complaint
I used paypal so thats good to know
