See here for coupons that give a discount (on the item price only - excluding shipping and insurance) on eBay "buy it now" items (not auctions as far as I know) paid for via PayPal. When paying via PayPal there's a checkbox option allowing you to redeem a coupon and then you enter the coupon to get the discount. Worked for me just now while buying a 2GB Secure Digital flash card. There are a few other similar sites that list these sorts of offers although they all seem to have the same codes at any point in time.

Any eBay site as far as I know. I don't think it matters anyway which eBay site you go through. I usually go via eBay.ie but have sometimes linked via eBay.com or eBay.co.uk and it's all been the same (apart from eBay.ie automatically knowing to show the foreign currency prices in €s.

I have given up on using .ie and have reverted to using .co.uk cos the response time under .ie is pants. Anyone agree with this ?

And response time is important when I'm looking to swoop with a final bid in the last 10 seconds of an auction. This is how I now get my endorphin highs .

Are you sure it's not a local problem? I haven't experienced any delays with the .ie site lately.

Yeah - this online bidding/shopping is bloody addictive too! Just lately I've already bought four SD Card MP3 players plus three 256MB SD Cards (belated birthday pressies), a laptop port replicator, a second hand PocketPC with various extras, a new mobile phone battery for one of my nephews (the brother is paying though), another one for the mother in law, a foldable keyboard and a 2GB SD Card for the PocketPC and a second hand Mothercare harness for carrying the baby (must've felt guilty that day!).

Any eBayers interested in reducing their 'endorphin highs' should check out the use of 'auction snipers'. I use www.snip.pl — used to be free, now €0.15 per successful 'snipe'. You can still get a free version at (look for the free 'BidTamer' option), but it's a lot more fiddly/limited and involves clicking through their 'sure-you-wouldn't-like-to-pay-for-the-premium-version?' page every time you log in.

Clubman, thanks for the promo codes. Looking forward to testing whether or not they work outside eBay's/PayPal's .ca & .com 'jurisdictions'... I originally registered with eBay.co.uk, but my login/password work fine on any of the other sites. As far as I can see, there's no particular advantage to registering separately with eBay.ie, other than that the prices are displayed in €. I seem to remember reading somewhere on the [broken link removed] that listing fees were higher than on .co.uk, but can't remember the details... (I'm a buyer, not a seller — so far!)

I'm pretty sure that they do although I can't remember which domain I went through when using one of the codes for my last purchase.

Er, did you read the details on the links that I posted?

Er, no cos I was at work when I posted and I've been caught out by clicking at links while at work. Not that your link was inappropriate, just me not wanting to bring something up on screen that I wouldn't choose to do at the desk.

So you could have waited until you got home and read the details of the offer...

Silly question, but

Reading the link is says

"The codes apply for purchases made between November 7 and November 30 for Buy-It-Now auctions, limited to 1 use per person."

So does that mean I can only use 1 of the 3 codes, or each code can only be used once? I have 2 buy it now purchases and obviously want to make the best use of these, ideally using 2 codes

Thanks

S.
