Cronins on college street is usually a good bet, I've even seen families queuing outside during really busy periods in Killarney. They do main courses (traditional Irish stuff) for around the €12 euro mark in the evenings (which compared to surrounding restaurants is brilliant value). They give great portions, usually banging out bread and chips for the table and have a good selection for kids.
