E111 - Lanzarote

going in July.

having looked at various bulletin boards, I cannot find the name of any local doctor who takes E111.

naturally there are hundreds who take private insurance, but for a simple tummy bug, where a simple antibiotic would be needed, it seems wrong to avail of private insurance when the E111 should suffice.

any pointers???

I don't think an E111 form is in use any more. It has been replaced by the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).

The European Health Insurance Card is not accepted by private doctors/clinics. You need to go to the nearest Public Health Centre.
If you are staying in Puerto del Carmen the health centre in located to the right of the Biosfera shopping centre behind the Post Office.

Has anyone ever got one of these cards? I applied when they first came out (4 years ago?) and am still waiting for it to arrive!

Applied about a month ago for 3 cards. Received them after 2 weeks.
