DWT payable or not

Hi, can anyone tell me if DWT should be paid on a share dividend recieved from a company whose sole income is patent royalties.

If it wasn't withheld / deducted by the company then what are the future implications for the beneficiary (an employee)?

in short, income (dividend) is not regarded as income for the purposes of the Income Tax Acts

I'm clear on the income tax exemption, it's the 20% witholding tax I'm concerned about. I've been told on one hand that it is straightforward exempt and on the other that it should be witheld until approval is given by revenue to release it.

I'll have a poke around that act and see if it's covered there.
