Nope. Most commercially produced DVDs are dual layer. When watching a DVD you might experience a slight (less than a second) pause as the player adjusts to read from the second layer.

Yeah - this is why you generally need something like [broken link removed] when copying a commercially recorded DVD so that it will fit onto a 4.7GB single layer DVD+/-R[W].
