DVD Recorder help

I'm thinking of buying a DVD Recorder while I'm in the UK next month. Will I be able to record all the stations over here (via NTL) or do I need to buy a specific type over there, refering in particular to the UHF/VHF difference?
Anybody bought/imported from UK, if so, what problems
(if any) did you have?

Price example
Panasonic DMR-E55 379 Euro in DID but
255 Euro in London.

The one I refer to in the above topic has both vhf and uhf. But some deffo do not. I think in the UK they do not use vhf whereas over here all the NTL channels are on vhf?

Bear in mind that the panasonic you refer to covers RAM and -R - But not on DVD-RW - so fine if youre using RAM for it's timeslip capability and -R for write once - but a bit of a nuisance if you want to use a -RW for reuse.

The Toshiba I purchased is the biz - could never go back to non "pause live tv" days! and has Ram, -r, -rw.

Doesn't seem to be on www.pixmania.com at the moment though. It cost Eur260 incl delivery.
