Duty to pay on goods received by post from the US

I know there may be duty to pay on goods received from the US but does anyone know what the value threshold is and how the scale works after that?

Hi GG,

A similar question was asked here recently but veered off at a tangent. (it discussed the morality or otherwise of declaring the goods as a gift)

I found the advice in the post by OCRAS usefull but difficult to navigate the site referenced.
