Hi all
Does anyone know anything about Durabase Matting?
I am planning on laying porcelain tiles on a new build concrete floor ( with underfloor heating ) and The tile shop recommended using this matting to prevent any future cracks in the floor from transferring to the tile.
It's not cheap (coming in at 12 eur per sq yd ) but I'm wondering if it's worth it? I really dont want to be dealing with cracked tiles 6 months down the line!
Thanks for any advice

first of all, if your new concrete is properly laid, and using the correct grade of concrete, and left for the appropriate time to cure.. it shouldn't crack to the extent that would damage tiles.

secondly, i have never seen the need for this material, tbh, if all else is correct.

thirdly, if you are going to use it, is it certified for use with underfloor heating, and does it have any insulant properties, in which case you should not put it between the heat scource and the room to be heated.
