Nor M&S, which seems to be cheapest for a lot of staple products these days.

The selection of products always put me off Dunnes Stores, one brand of lots of food products and often if they have a dispute with a company , a distributor or even a delivery guy you will see products pulled off the shelves indefinitely.

I would never have expexted M & S to be a good place to buy staples, by this I assume you mean things like bread/ milk etc ? Thats interesting alright ,

I've always found Tesco own brand stuff to be the cheapest among the supermarkets (- including Aldi/Lidl...)
