Dumping beds?

Are there any recycling centers around that accept beds? Is there a charge? Are the shops obliged to take back old beds?

I want to replace a few beds and would like to know how best to get rid of the old ones, any help appreciated!

If they are in reasonable condition, try freecycle or jumbletown.ie. I advertised a bed on freecycle and it was collected the next day.
