Flying Dublin - London - New York in one day and not sure if the whole thing counts as transatlantic, therefore need to check in early for the Dub - Lon flight, or just the usual hourish beforehand??
Also we're hoping to get both boarding passes and check luggage straight through (Flights booked using travelocity)

Anyone any ideas about checking in time or boarding passes/luggage situation?

Thanks

I would say leave at least two hours for a number of reasons.

  1. Travelocity flight bookings can be troublesome, loads of complaints about them on various airline fora so if you get there early you have a better chance to sort any problems out should they arise.
  2. The airport is crazy at the moment, check in queues are long.
  3. Security in Dublin airport took me 55 mins last Saturday morning, the queue was mad. Better to be safe than sorry.
Regarding the luggage, you don't say what airline/s you're flying. Some will transfer, others won't. So can't advise about luggage transfer. Generally if they're within the same airline alliance they will if not probably not. Aer Lingus pulled out of One World a couple of years ago but still has partnership agreements re miles and transfers with some individual airlines.
