Overview
Dublin City Council is seeking feedback on its plans to provide an off-road cycle route along the River Liffey by Friday, 17th April 2015.

The ‘Liffey Corridor’ cycle route would run from the Phoenix Park to the 3-Arena in the Docklands.

Four possible options are being considered:

· Option 1: A two-way route along the north quays. This would not see a reduction in the number of traffic lanes but a new section of boardwalk would be needed between Arran and Ellis Quay

· Option 2: A two-way route on the north quays with buses re-routed to a new public transport corridor on Benburb St (between Heuston Station and Ellis Quay)

· Option 3: A two-way north quays route with buses rerouted to the north of the Croppy Acre which would be extended down towards the Liffey

· Option 4: A one-way route on each side of the Liffey. The cycle tracks would be alongside the buildings and bus and general traffic would not be effected

Dublin City planners will be attending a meeting of the Dublin Cycling Campaign to explain these plans tomorrow.

Dublin City Council have been advancing the design and construction of state-of-the-art cycling facilities in the city with the support of the National Transport Authority (NTA). Right now they are asking YOU to have your say in deciding the fate of the proposed Liffey Cycle Route.These proposals are a major statement by the Council and huge step forward for catering for bikes in Dublin city.

Brendan O’Brien, Head of Technical Services, and Christopher Manzira, Senior Executive Engineer - both from Dublin City Council - will be presenting a detailed update on the four options on which you, the general public, are invited to comment. Come along and learn about the proposals so as to help make your decision on the best design option for this exciting development.

I didn't realise this was on. Did any one attend? I think its going to be a difficult route to design. It will be impossible to please everyone.
