I will be buying a DS Ninteno this xmas for my Daughter ,Smyths have it for 179.00 euro with a game , just seen brand new on ebay going for arounfd the same with 18 games ,carriage about 20.00euro, To me this is a no brainer am I correct before I go ahead with purchase, I have bought this ways before with no problems, Thanks

eBay is an excellent resource, as long as you are sure of what you are buying and that the seller is reliable.

eBay are not a shop, they are an intermediary between you and the seller. €20 sounds too good to be true. It's either second hand, stolen, or, once you bid, other bids will appear before the auction closes which push it far above that price.

Not according to the subject line!

Perhaps dodo could clarify how the comma should be interpreted here?
with 18 games ,carriage about 20.00euro

I still say this is a scam, or not actually obtainable at that price, or a mistake.

I remember a few years ago people buying eBay items described as "Playstation original packaging (as pictured)" only to find they'd bought an empty Playstation box!

Ah, you're right, I suspect the OP didn't realise that the price seen on ebay was the current bid price.

Sorry, but this is my fault.

I changed the title from Ebay Trading to DS Ninteno: EBAY €20 Vs Smyths have it for €179: any problems with ebay?.

I misinterpreted Dodos post as meaning that the item cost €20.00 on ebay when in fact I dont think Dodo mentioned any price on ebay.

Can you post a link to the ebay one youre talking about? I was looking for them last week and they were all around the 150e mark with 18 or so games. ex delivery. Delivery was around 27 sterling. The ones that I was looking at last week seem to be coming from Asia which I always think adds a risk factor that Id rather avoid.

Smyths are doing them for 149 for the basic unit, for 179 you get 1 game plus the accessory kit. AFAIK, Argos have the same deal.

It appears that the price of the item is the same on ebay, but you are getting a lot more, for the additional outlay of 20 euro. Instead of 1 game, he is getting 18.
To the OP, this looks reasonable, just confirm that the seller has a high satisfaction score, and go ahead with the purchase.

Dodo,
Just did a quick search on ebay for DS + 18 games.
Most seem to be selling for 225 +30 delivery
It would appear that they are coming from Shanghai.
Some comments on feedback are that the games have no packaging and no instructions
As other posters have suggested, you may be hit for customs another 50euro?
The biggest problem I would suggest is whether it will arrive in time.
I would hate to be waiting Christmas week for it to be delivered.

I would buy a ds + games in a bricks and mortar store just to be sure.
