Dry cleaners have ruined my posh frock. Wore it to a friends wedding left it in to be cleaned - just some deodorant marks round armpits. Got a voicemail a couple of weeks back saying that not all stains were removed and for me to call in. Went in today - manager was not there, assistant wanted me to come back tomorrow. I asked to see the dress expecting that deodorant stains hadn't come out. Dress was streaky, alot of beading had come off and a few new stains. Assistant showed me the care label which stated "Professional spot clean only".

Who is in the wrong for not checking label? Me or the dry cleaners. Dress cost €255 plus I had it professionally altered at a cost of circa €30. I just want to have my facts straight before I go back to the manager

Hi

Whatever you do, stand your ground with the dry cleaners, from experience I found that that always works, I have had numerous items mislaid or damaged by dry cleaners, one in particular just expected me to go away, I didn't and managed to get 200 euro back for a dress that was damaged, dress cost me 275 euro, but they deducted money for wear and tear.
