Android Users, I was wondering what your favourite Apps are.

What do you use regularly; what do you think are really useful; what do you use to waste a bit of time on the train; what do you think are really clever ideas and put together nicely.

I'm looking to see what have I missed and also a general discussion of good apps.

Doesn't matter if its games, social networking, productivity/business stuff, handy little tools, etc, etc...

To get the ball rolling, I particularly like Shazam and Google Gesture Search, I use FourSquare quite a bit, I like the Accuweather app and I was quite impressed with Budweiser's Ice Cold Index even if the summer weather didn't give me as many free pints as I would have liked.....

Can you start by simply explaining what a droid phone exactly is? ;) A quick google search doesn't say much about it! I just bought a Nokia N8 smartfone- does this qualify? OR how do these differ from iPhones? I can download apps from the Nokia Ovi store. I've downloaded a work-out app which seems good, and a game.

Viber.

Basically its skype, except it uses phone numbers instead of having to have an account.

Free calls, sms, and mms...

In my opinion, this is how mobile phones are going to be in the next couple of years.. There'll be no more "free minutes" or "free texts"

You'll be paying for data packages, and your internet will be on permanently..

If you listen to the radio,TuneIn radio app is good.It has all the BBC radio channels. Also Repligo PDF reader is a good cheap app for reading PDFs(even the password protected type)

A "Droid" smartphone is a phone that uses the "Android operating system" as its O/S and as the Nokia N8 uses the "Symbian Anna Operating System" it doesn't qualify as a "Droid" phone.

I'm hooked......

Viber, but bear in mind that both parties must have reasonable WiFi Broadband.

I didn't think Android MarketPlace has Viber...thought that was just on iPhone....

WhatsApp is definitely cross platform though and as I have both that and Viber I would rate whatsapp way ahead.
