I have decided to head off travelling for the year but don't have my driving test. I'll be leaving in about three months time - anyone know of a way to get on a cancellation list or the like?
A letter from your employer, stating that you need to drive for work, is all that is normally required. Just beware that you need to be ready for the test, as you might not get much notice.
A few years ago a friend of mine called and explained they were heading off in a couple of months and managed to get on the "cancellation" list, so could be worth trying that too as it worked for him.
If you are prepared to take the test immediately you can phone 096 78211/14 regularly and there is a possibility that they will give you an appt that was cancelled very late.
