driving licence address change - turnaround time

I have an appointment booked at the NDLC and I have all my documents to prove my new address.
Will I get my new licence on the day?
I am going on holiday a few days later and will be hiring a car.
If the answer to my first question is anything but yes, will I have any problems in hiring the car, I gave my new address on the booking form and my licence has my old address.
 
No, all covered in their FAQ. The licenses themselves are not produced on the premises, they say turn-around time is 5-8 days.
 
Ok.. I didnt spot that!
Has anybody hired a car abroad where the address on the licence differs to the home address at time of booking?
I am going to Portugal and some of the car rentals are known to be picky.
 
I've done that in the past without an issue. When I travel with work the car is hired by the company and the rental companies never get or look for my home address.
