Driver for removeable drive

I've a USB memory stick but my ancient home pc won't recognise it as a removeable drive. I keep getting unknown device. I know I need to install a driver but the thing is I don't know what manufacturer the memory stick is from. Is there a general driver that I could download from somewhere to make my home pc recognise this?

You might find something here, but be careful. What OS does your computer have? Do you know how to do a system restore if you need to roll back your system to a previous state?
