Please, if you're going the whole hog, also remove any "modernist" idioms, like hideous horizontal windows.
Otherwise there are several modernist interpretations of traditional which could suite the pub scene and draw in business, unless you absolutely wish to pander to the tourist and ove 60 market..
Finally, and expecially if there are upper floors/dead end runs, make sure your fire escape measures are correctly installed, up to date and recently checked.
