Draining Oil Tank

Can anyone tell me how to Drain Kerosene from a plastic oil tank. Have recently changed over to gas and I want to get rid of the tank from my garden. There is about a foot of kerosene left which i plan on giving to my neighbour if i can drain it.
 
There should be a flow valve at the tank which can be turned on and off.

Cut the pipe that feeds the burner just after the valve and away you go.

Is there any potential issue with impurities in the dregs that might cause a problem here?
 
thanks for the information. wont drain it completely to avoid dregs
