Hi Guys,

Can anybody advise on a good industrial product to clear a blockage in an outside drain?

Will using this method be successful or will i need to get at it with rods and clear the block manually?

The shore is blocked at 2 points where the gutter feeds down to the drain and where my kitchen feeds out water from dishwasher, washing machine etc to another drain..

Any help is much appreciated

Hi,

Have you your own septic tank or you on mains? The issue might be just backfill from a block further down the system, have you lifted any covers further down the line to check if blockage is also there?

No Septic Tank, on mains...
I only noticed it this morning when going to work!
i will be sure to lift it later on and give the rods a go..

the water doesnt subside in both drains so i am presuming the block is between each drain but maybe be further down..

Hi,

Those outside drains might not be suitable for "roding" - caustic soda is usually good for clearing grease drains - BUT don't over use.. can cause problems with overuse & hardening...

If issue on mains drain within your boundary - then a set of rods from a hardware store (around €25) should clear it. If outside your property, then not too sure what you can except report it to local council...

Good luck with it...
