Downloading music on ipad?

Does anyone know if i can download music on ipad using a sites llike bittorrent or someything like that?

Or do i have to do this on my laptop and then transfer it onto itunes and synch from there?

Surely it can all be done via the ipad?

Obviously i could use itunes and pay for it - but i prefer bittorrent and the like.
