Double Charged at Aer Rianta Car Parks

I used Dublin Airport Aer Rianta Car Parks recently and had some difficulty with the ticket machine before picking up my car. I kept the receipt for 38 Euro (4 x 9.50 per day) but noticed my Visa was charged twice at 36 Euro each or 72 Euro in total, which is very strange. I'm now trying to resolve with Aer Rianta DAA. Luckily, they matched my Reg # and my receipt number.

Call the credit card company, not the DAA.

It turns out that the 2 line items charged on my Visa last week were from Shannon Airport in JULY 2008 and SEPT 2008. They waited 5 to 7 months ! I have yet to be charged for the Dublin airport charge from 2 weeks ago - I suspect I will see that charge before Christmas.

Maybe that's because in these deflationary times, the money's worth more now than it was 6 months ago.
