Door locked shut

I have patio doors that will not open, I can hear the bolts operating when I lift the handle but it is stuck shut. Anyone else had this, I am told that if the glass is remove I can get at the mechanism

Is this the house you've bought? I'm assuming you've never had the door open?

If its a fairly new PVC door, then its unlikely that removing the glass will help. The PVC frame is a sealed "box" and you wont be able to see the lock mechanism by removing the glass.

Hi, a bottle of WD40 around the locking mechanisms & the handles, all around door frames... Give it a few minutes and gently push it open...

(actually are you pushing the door when it should be pulled open or vice-versa? )

Is it sliding patio doors or two doors they open outward?

I managed to open it by chance after 2 weeks of trying, it appears the bottom bolt is loose so I removed it, it works for now until I get a professional to fix it
