According to this [broken link removed]in today's Irish Times, many people in Donegal invested in a scheme and the promoter, Francois De Dietrich, has disappeared.
He used two prominent GAA people as promoters so people invested because they trusted them. The GAA people seem to be victims rather than perpetrators.
The NI Police have issued an international arrest warrant for the De Dietrich.
