Domiciliary Care Allowance

Hi all. Can somebody advise me. My son was diagnosed with autism. I applied for Domiciliary Care Allowance with his report at end of May, got acknowlegement of receipt of report at start of June but heard nothing since. Should I contact them ?? How long does it take to get approval ??

There are other threads on this topic here, I understand from people who've posted on them them that they've waited several months for a decision on their claim.
