Does whiskey go off?

Does anyone know if whiskey goes off? I have an opened bottle of whiskey in a dark press for the past 3 years or so. I have a whiskey drinker calling to the house so need to know if I need to buy a fresh bottle?! Don't drink it myself so haven't a clue.

I think there is a risk of both oxidisation and evaporation of alcohol.
General consensus seems to be that an opened bottle is OK for about a year.

Some experts say, if stored in a temp of 18/19*C away from sunlight, that it should be OK for yonks. Oxidisation/displacement (air to whiskey) is another topic to be mulled over while tearing (slowly!) into a bottle of 12 year old Connemara. Cheers!

That's great. I'll chance it so! I'm sure it won't kill him if some of the alcohol has evaporated!

Rule of thumb..
If he turns the same colour as the whiskey, call a doctor.

I would chance it. I have a bottle of scotch my dad imported years ago, and it still tastes great, and has the desired effect... hic..
