just wondering if s.w help with bills like gas and eect.Im on RA (single mom not working)

thanks a mill.

Regular bills would not be considered for help - you're expected to meet those out of your weekly income.

If, however, you had an exceptionally high bill (e.g. if a child was sick and you had to use extra heating), you could apply for once-off help towards the bill from your Community Welfare Officer.

Have a look at Code of Practice on Fuel Debts from Dept of Social and Family Affairs.

Remember to apply for the fuel supplement in September - it's an extra payment paid from Sept - April each year. You should contact your Social Welfare office for an application form, they should be available in a few weeks.

thanks so much.i paid 300 deposit to esb (new account holder) instead of doing it by direct debit.I have no idea what an average gas bill(heating and oven)costs per month or elect.1 adult 2 childen.
