doctors registration fee

hello,
two months ago our local doctor began charging a registration fee of twenty five euro per person per year. I have never heard of this before, are there any other doctors charging a registration fee. seems its just another way to get money

Never heard of it. It is certainly not common practice where I live.

Tell him you no longer want to be registered. Doesn't mean you cannot use his services on the rare occasion that you need his services.

doctor in in the country, west of ireland. if not registered, they will not see you.

Can doctors refuse to see you?

Go elsewhere if you don't want to pay the registration fee. However, if it's in the part of the west of Ireland that I know, then all the other doctors will be charging the registration fee as well.

If that's the case, report them all to the Competition Authority - all doctors in one area starting to simultaneously charge a registration fee would smack of collusion.
