Hi All,

Is anyone going to these open day veiwings? I got a letter about it yesterday and it doesn't seem very well organised. It seems you go and view the plans in one place and then go to another place to see if you can make on offer on your chosen property, if it's still available...

ya i thought the same....and like where are all the lists gone? it just seems if you camp out early enough you get your pick and that's that, no regard to how long you've been waiting on a list.

Plus the fact that some of the developments are being sold without any of the affordable restrictions would to my mind suggest they're not great value in the first place!

I got the letter too. I noticed there was a three bed for sale with no restrictions. I live just around the corner so I popped over to have a look. I saw something at the end of the road which put me off from ever living on a ground floor apt there.

Hey Hon3ymonster,

Do you know anything about availability of parking in the area? Is it possible to rent spaces or is there enough on street parking around?

Hi all,

any idea of how these viewings are proceeding?? I've been on the list for almost 3 years and i've been allocated a viewing date for this Sunday but all seems very laid back. I've been invited also to the Fairview Close open day this Friday. Are you expected to bring a booking deposit for each different developer (even with two different OPEN days on the same wk/end!) Not possible for me. So are they strict with the deposits on the day?? I'm not going organising a booking deposit and then be told there's no apts left on the sunday....all very up in the air for my liking....

Seems the Docklands are viewing this Thurs, Sat & Sun. Does anyone know if they're allocating a certain amt of apts for each day? otherwise i can't see any of the decent ones being left....

most grateful if anyone can shed some light.

Cheers :)

Hi Cerebral,

i'm new to this site but it's very informative. We gotta stick together lol.

As far as i know DDDA have written out to applicants informing them of the date they are allocated. As far as i know most ppl have been allocated the 10th May (Sun) but i saw on their website this week that open days are Thurs, Sat & Sun so i don't know how many ppl/apts allocated to each day or do they still expect ppl to turn up on the Sat & Sun when there's no apts left.... altho the Thurs & Fri open days could be an error on their site?? I was hoping to have a bit of info before wasting my day on Sunday and getting all excited about it....

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I put a deposit down on a place in Cabra last September and they came back recently to say they decided not to sell them! So now this has come up and it does not seem very well organised.

I have heard that the Thursday viewings were cancelled so it's now just Saturday and Sunday and they expect a couple of hundred each day. So I guess there won't be a whole lot left by Sunday!!!

sorry to hear about Cabra, guess it wasn't meant to be and you'll get something you like even better!

OMG a couple of hundred each day??!! that is crazy. I suppose they are just doing what they can to get rid of them. I wouldn't imagine everyone will have all their docs together as the letters were only posted recently. I have all in order except i'm worried about getting a cheque sorted especially if it's a waste of time. it's going to be a huge scramble to view the apts and i'm not exactly the most pushy person so no doubt i'd be paddy last getting in lol. I dunno what to be doing now. I wonder if it's possible to view the maps online for these...i'll google and let you know.

Even if you did see an apt you liked, by the time you got the office and asked to put a deposit down, it'll be more than likely gone by the crowds in front of ya....

Yeh, I'm becoming less and less hopefull the more I hear about it. Anyway, best of luck to anyone who heads down...
